John L'Heureux was a prominent novelist and poet, the author of The Miracle, The Shrine at Altamira, Comedians, Picnic in Babylon, An Honorable Profession and A Woman Run Mad, among other works. He contributed to America while a Jesuit priest (he left the order in 1971).
