Hours after the announced the end of DACA President Trump appeared to backtrack and leave open the possibility of revisiting DACA if Congress cannot pass legislation to protect Dreamers.

Former White House Chief Strategist Stephen K. Bannon believes the Catholic Church has been “terrible” to Mr. Trump on the issue of immigration, accusing bishops of supporting immigrants out of “economic interest.”

Back in 1991, close to nine in 10 Catholics in the United States were white. Today, that number is down to 55 percent—and that percentage will continue to drop.

Reacting to the move to end DACA, the bishops said, “Today, our nation has done the opposite of how Scripture calls us to respond. It is a step back from the progress that we need to make as a country.”

DACA is a small and imperfect step in realizing what we Christians assert as truth about the dignity of all.
