In his weekly message after the recitation of the Angelus on Sunday, Pope Francis once again called for peace in Syria. It was also announced that Pope Francis would meet with refugees from the Jesuit Refugee Service in Rome next month. 

In Damascus people are praying and fasting for the safe return of Father Paolo Dall'Oglio and for peace in Syria. 

A wildfire in Yosemite, California is the size of Chicago; firefighters are doing everything possible to save the park. 

The U.N. is reporting that their inspectors heading into a site of a suspected chemical attack in Syria came under fire from multiple snipers, no one was reported injured. 

In Jerusalem, Israeli security forces killed three Palestinian men when violence broke out during a raid in the Qalandia refugee camp.
