In the July 16-23 issue of America, Father Andrew Greeley argues that the Irish have not loss their faith, as some contend, but rather their "willingness to accept the apodictic rules of church authority." In the March 12, 2001 issue, Father Greeley presented research that showed that the Irish remain Catholic, "but on their own terms."
