Dolan of New York in an address at the annual meeting of the Anti-Defamation League on Nov. 3 in that city. • Daniel Avila, the U.S. bishops’ policy adviser for marriage and family, resigned on Nov. 4 after he suggested in an opinion piece that same-sex attraction could be the work of the devil.
