Walberg in The Fighter

tumultous childhood in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and features an interview with one of the few positive influences in his life, a Catholic priest, who noticed Wahlberg's acting potential during a courtroom appearance. Wahlberg, who attends Mass daily, is promoting his new film, The Fighter, a sports biopic showcasing the life of boxer Micky Ward. Watch the piece here.

I saw the "60 Minutes" segment, and the daily Mass reference threw me for a loop. It shouldn't have, of course, but how often do we hear that a celebrity attends Mass on a daily basis, including when he's traveling around the world on business? It was also great that his pastor was on camera, and how the interviewer had to coyly draw out of him that Wahlberg had donated in the "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to that parish.

Who would thunk:  the Marky Mark of Boogie Nights reputation?  Just goes to show that one can be a religious man AND a hot man.

Great story.  Thanks for passing it along.  I will have to look for the movie and get some of his past ones from Netflix.
