Has David Letterman been hanging out with Bread for the World's David Beckmann? Maybe the Daves were switched by mischievous CBS executives? Who can say, but after apparently going on a lengthy rant about one of the Seven Deadlies that is particularly popular within U.S. borders while poor Rachel Ray was visiting, Letterman felt compelled to issue the apology below. Dave may have gotten a few numbers wrong, but he certainly hit the mark on the problem of world hunger and what little it would take to resolve it.

Speaking of which, if you are moved by Dave's rant at all, you might consider the above-mentioned Bread for the World or Catholic Relief Services or Second Harvest for your anti-hunger donations.
