In Closing

I told Tinsaye not to clean the juicer yet, she said I was stupid,
and I said nothing, and silence is will and quiet wanting.

I told John she was difficult, he fired her, and quiet shuts the door
and silence makes room

She came back to tell me Trader Joe’s paid better,
that she in high school earned more per quiet hour than me at twenty seven

I was twenty five, I didn’t say anything, but I felt some noise
like a window was open, and a car door closed outside.
