On the recommendation of the Dicastery for Laity, the Family and Life, Pope Francis is postponing the upcoming World Meeting of Families as well as World Youth Day by a year because of coronavirus.

International Catholic relief organizations are beginning to express concern about how the pandemic is affecting the people of Iraq and are assessing how to assist them in their time of need.

While the pandemic is being handled on the home front, many U.S.-based aid groups are working to assist the poor and migrant communities around the world in dealing with the crisis.

Zimbabwe had recorded 23 coronavirus cases and three deaths as of April 16, but many fear that the true numbers could be much higher because of the lack of Covid-19 testing capacity here.

Guatemalan authorities recently said the U.S. sent a plane of deportees to the country with the majority of them carrying the coronavirus, which causes COVID-19.

"This individualized consideration should be based on current objective medical evidence and the expressed views of the patients themselves as opposed to unfounded assumptions," the guidelines said.
