In his weekly general audience, Pope Francis describes the witness to evangelization provided by monks and nuns, whose prayer sustains the mission of the Body of Christ.
Pope Francis continues with his series of general audiences on evangelization: “Today there are persecutions of Christians throughout the world, many, many. There are more martyrs today than in the first times.”
“One does not proclaim the Gospel standing still, locked in an office, at one’s desk or at one’s computer, arguing like ‘keyboard warriors’ and replacing the creativity of proclamation with copy-and-paste ideas,” the pope said.
“Look at the closet of your soul—how many useless things you have, how many stupid illusions,” the pope said. “Let us return to simplicity, to things that are true, that don’t need to be made-up.”
