Among the almost 50,000 estimated victims of the terrible earthquake in Haiti was the archbishop of Port-au-Prince, Joseph Serge Miot, who died when his office, adjacent to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, collapsed along with the cathedral.  Archbishop Miot died united with the poor who were under his care.  These photos of the ruined cathedral are from the BBC's website.

So sad! All of those people.  Lord, grant us your help and salvation.
May we in the richer countries come to the aid of our brothers and sisters of this beautful people.  And may they teach us!
