To accompany America editor Tim Reidy’s profile of Brooklyn-based painter Alfonse Borysewicz, America is also offering an online slide show in which Borysewicz comments on his own religious art. "Finding new ways to present the Gospel story may be a rare artistic endeavor today," Reidy comments, "but Borysewicz’s work is a reminder that it is still fertile soil for those willing to till it." The slide show offers a unique tour through the works of an artist whom Greg Wolfe Image, a quarterly review of arts and religion, has called one of the most important religious artists since the French Catholic Georges Rouault. Reidy’s original article, which also appeared in America’s online edition today, can be found here.
