Two Catholic organizations are calling on physicians to urge the American Medical Association to maintain its current stance against physician-assisted suicide. The call from the Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Catholic Bioethics Center

The AMA's Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs is gathering information to "outline the current landscape" on physician-assisted suicide.

Hint: He's a Catholic and a Socialist.

Some Catholics have turned their sights to other issues—euthanasia, death penalty—that are part of the church’s pro-life agenda.

"I have been for the Hyde Amendment,” Kaine told CNN on Friday. “And I have not changed my position on that.”

What is at stake is a significant increase in the already distressingly high number of abortions.
