Greetings from Durban, South Africa. I am here as part of my “tertianship,” which is the last step in formation before final vows and “full incorporation” into the Society of Jesus.

During my time in South Africa, I have been able to pray and reflect on the life of St. Ignatius by engaging with the Spiritual Exercises, which are truly a gift to the entire church, not just the Jesuits. There have been many instances in which I have encountered God in an intimate way. I am grateful to have had the opportunity, time and space to devote to this deep period of prayer and meditation on the life of Christ. I encourage you to join me in continuing to find God in all things. We remain mindful that it is a privilege for all of us at America to help you do that.

Rest assured of my prayers for you—and for everyone who is a part of our America Media community—our board, staff, subscribers, partners and donors.
