The amazon is 2/3 the size of continental US. It’s hard to find accurate information on the different terrains of the Amazon and how much has been changed. The word “destroyed” is inappropriate since much of the changed land is use for farming. That may be short sighted but not necessarily bad.

Also what does Latin American Church have to offer? I haven’t seen it.
