But let’s slow down. Enjoy the final curl
Of heat

Like the first rain of spring

Because Francis demanded poverty,
after all

You, who used to be so accessible, Your number not yet
unlisted,

The snake is a word unwriting itself.

Now they are at the mercy of the merciless.
