Today marks the hundredth anniversary of America’s first issue, on April 17, 1909.  To celebrate a century of weekly Catholic journalism, the editors and staff of America are inviting all friends of the magazine (I suppose foes are invited, too) to a special Mass of Thanksgiving, to be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church (pictured to the right) in New York City tomorrow, Saturday, April 18 at 2pm.  Cardinal Theodore McCarrick will preach, and Archbishop Celestino Migliore will be the primary celebrant.  A reception will follow afterwards in Wallace Hall (beneath the church).  Come join us!
