Day 5: Bethlehem
We have hope and faith that the love of God through the child that was born in Bethlehem will soften and inspire love of neighbor.
Day 4: Jordan River & Bethany
Today was a beautiful day of prayer, as each of the prior four days has been. In fact, the whole day was a prayer!
Day 3: The Sea of Galilee and Magdala
Each day, I have been overwhelmed by the proximity of Jesus and the disciples. Standing near where Jesus preached the Beatitudes and seeing the Bay of Parables brought these stories to life in a new way.
Day 2: Nazareth and Cana
Over the summer I experienced a sudden and seemingly permanent end to a friendship. The abruptness and not knowing why it ended sent me into a tailspin of deep sadness. I cherished that friendship. I was heartbroken and devastated.
Day 1: Capernaum
Today’s visit to the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes and the shore’s edge of the Sea of Galilee resonated with me for many reasons—not just because both Gospel readings center on food and eating and the fact I’ve been in the restaurant business for over 30 years.
