Bart Ehrman, chair of the department of religious studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has become an amazing phenomenon in religious publishing. His literary and historical introduction to the New Testament is widely used as a textbook in universities across the United States. In recent years he has produced many scholarly and popular books on the Bible and related topics (like the apostolic fathers and The Da Vinci Code) at a very fast pace.
