Barbara Reid, O.P.

Barbara Reid, O.P., is professor of New Testament studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She began writing the America Word column in Advent 2008.As a Dominican biblical scholar, Reid has a keen interest in relating the study of the scriptures with the ministry of preaching. Her work on the parables and on women in the Gospel of Luke makes current feminist biblical scholarship available to preachers, teachers, and pastoral ministers. She is the author of Choosing the Better Part? Women in the Gospel of Luke and Parables for Preachers.
